Hello world~ (=^・ω・^=)

Hi there and welcome~

About me:

Name: Sarah | Sayuri

Occupation: Linux Sysadmin and Network Engineer

Location: Scotland, UK

Hi there! My name is Sarah (or online I usually go by "Sayuri"). I'm a Linux SysAdmin and Network Engineer based in Scotland and I'm a mostly completely self-taught one at that!

As with most people, I built my first PC in my early teens which kick-started my fascination with computers entirely. Initially - like most teens - I'd built my PC to play games, chat with friends, and explore the earlier days of the internet. With this, I was happy.

However, as time went on, my passion for music and lack of will to pay money for streaming services such as Spotify lead to me becoming curious about accessing the music on my home computer whilst I was out and about. This guided me towards the idea of "self-hosting" and discovering a very well known media software known as Plex! From there, alongside a basic IT course at college, my curiousity and fascination grew, and before I knew it I had Linux installed on an old laptop to use at university, I was using Linux at home on an old laptop to run a NAS and Jellyfin, and I was exploring the concepts of docker, kubernetes, ansible, and deep diving into how the web ACTUALLY works.

Here I am now, having managed to work my way up to being a fully-fledged Linux SysAdmin and Network Engineer, getting to play with tools I'd only dreamed of coming across - like Cisco routers and switches, and enterprise hardware with thousands of users relying on the service I help to provide!

Alongside my work however, I am also your stereotypical Arch Linux user (although, as you can probably gather from this site, this is now blending into being a full time Void Linux user xD) with a huge love for cars, computers/technology, gaming, music, anime, manga, keyboards, mice, and audio!

Currently I'm running EndeavourOS on my main PC at home, Ubuntu 26.04 on my main home server, Debian 13 on one of my other servers, and Void Linux on one of my other other server.

(however due to issues with running pieces of software such as k3s, I am intending to switch this over to either Debian or Ubuntu).

One of the machines being used is an old 2012 Dell Precision T1700 workstation, and the other being a repurposed Asus laptop. The most redeeming specs are in the workstation as it has 32GB of DDR3 RAM which is helpful for containers like Palworld or Crafty which demand a lot of RAM. The laptop mostly serves as my main Adguard DNS and Wireguard VPN. Second to last, I am running EndeavourOS on my personal laptop, the Thinkpad P1 Gen 4, and finally I have an old Dell laptop which will soon be repurposed into server #4!

Currently, I am driving a 2019 Hyundai i30 Fastback N which is completely stock. However, I would love to tastefully modify the car with some aftermarket wheels, good tyres, and some bolt-on mods to make a touch more power. My dream end goal would be to put the facelift i30n turbo in my car and remap as those can make 400hp incredibly easily!

The website you have been reading this entire time was entirely hand written and hosted by myself! As previously mentioned I've taught myself a lot of how the modern internet works so that you can go into your webbrowser and search up "www.ladymoonsarah.uk" and be brought to this page! This has included DNS, domain names, Docker, and reverse proxies, just to name a few of the technologies I've picked up to achieve this.

Thank you dear reader for spending your time here and taking the time to explore my website and read about me. I'm intending to flesh this site out with more features as I learn more about modern webhosting and the fun that can be had with it, and I do hope you stay for the journey to see where it all goes!

Stay hydrated, make sure you've eaten today, get enough sleep (this is good for you), and I wish you a pleasant morning/afternoon/evening, and a brighter day tomorrow. Take care!
